How to Succeed in Search Engine Marketing (SEM)?

OPT-IN-LIST and Targeted Visitors are the two secret weapons to achieve search engine marketing success with. It is the growth and prosperity of your e-mail list that will ensure more targeted audience and in the long run more sales and conversion rates. People buy from those sellers whom they trust and feel comfortable with. And there is no other better way of winning their trust as e-mail marketing.

One way of bringing more targeted traffic to your site for free is joint ventures partners. These are people who will like to do business with you and finding them is not so difficult if you begin with small marketers. And always keep a list of the successful joint venture partners that you worked with.

Another amazing way of succeeding in SEM is writing articles and submitting them to article directories as every article will link back to your site. And this will further improve your search engine rankings.

Not only this, you can join a marketing forum to bring in more targeted traffic as forums play a very major role in driving targeted traffic to your site.

Link exchange also is a beneficial tool of bringing in massive traffic to your site as your site's link on others' sites makes you visible to more and more people and also helps improve your website's ranking in search engines.

Similarly e-books and reports also act as viral online marketing tools as the readers have the flexibility to give away the book or reports for free to others and customize them with their own links.

Last but not the least, PPC or pay per click is also a way of increasing rankings and getting targeted traffic. But it is a paid method and you need to be very well versed with its ifs and buts before venturing into it.

Handling Dynamic Web Pages

Not all websites are static. There are many websites that are dynamic and database driven as per the requirements of the webmasters. But these dynamic websites create problems while indexing their pages. Earlier it was believed that dynamic, non HTML pages will not be indexed by the search engines. But times have changed, technology has improved, and so has the capability of the search engines to index all sorts of pages, whether it is .htm, .html, .asp, .aspx, .php, or any other extension. The idea is that links from other websites pointing to your website make you get spidered by the search engines.

Another problem with dynamic pages is that in case of pages returning results from search queries cannot be indexed sufficiently by the search engines because these pages have dynamic content. The reason being that a search engine spiders a page by fetching its url and then parsing the page's content or code behind the page. And when the page is dynamic, the search engine spider's effort to view a page is invalid as page requests of dynamic pages have to be followed by some information.

The solution to this problem is to use the 'mod-rewrite' module and rename all the dynamic pages into something short, understandable, and clear. The most important thing is to plan out everything in the beginning before designing the site layout. Otherwise you are going to spend more time revising, redesigning, and reworking on the old design, instead of concentrating on the promotion or marketing of the website.

Advertising Online: E-Mail Marketing With Permission

We all hate unwanted e-mails. But we all love to get e-mails that inform us about the things, products, and services that we want to know or remain updated about. Permission E-mail Marketing is one of those strategies of online advertising through which the members of your mailing list have given you the permission to contact them and the members also have the option to "opt out" or remove the mailing permission as and when they want. But the bottomline is to implement and practice permision e-mail marketing in right and ethical way.

1. Do not expect to make sales the first time you send an e-mail. If people show interest and want to know more about your products and services ,save their e-mail addreses and write to them. Only when you satisfy them will you be able to win their trust to make purchase from you.

2. Always have an online form to be duly filled by and submitted by the customers so that they can receive a copy of your newsletter, updates of your company or products or services, or even ask you questions.

3. The sooner you respond to their queries and questions, the better it will be because in business your reputation and your eagerness to help others matters a lot.

4. Your subject line has to be impressive enough to hook the readers. At the same time it should make a very genuine reading and notappear like "spam".

5. Providing the customers with an option to opt out from the mailing list will make you appear to be honest, genuine people who are not after clients. By giving the customers an option that they may choose to unsubscribe whenever they want is like telling them that we are not one of the millions of the e-mail spammers hovering around and that we mean business.
