Spamming: A Degrading SEO Practice

The Web defines spamming as any search engine ranking technique which degrades the quality of results produced by the search engines. It is also called spamdexing, and could also mean sending unsolicited bulk email to people. In the eyes of the search engines, it is an offense for indulging in which the web sites can be penalized or even banned. You may be wondering if spamming is not right, why people spam sites? One major reason is more traffic. But there are other factors too like, high search engine rankings, more profit in less time, ignorance on the part of site owners, etc.

The different ways in which search engine spamming is done are:

1. Using invisible text, or hidden text and links
2. Using the same title tag repeatedly
3. Using doorway pages
4. Using irrelevant content and keywords/phrases
5. Creating pages with duplicate content
6. Cloaking

Now next time you get allured to spam your site with all sorts of dirty tricks, think twice because spamming can lead to very serious consequences. If you are lucky, then spam may be ignored. But, otherwise the search engines hate and dislike spamming like police hates robbers, and if found spamming, your site may be banned or removed from the search engines. Infact, your competitors may report spam to search engines and put an end to your just begun business.

Using Writing As A Marketing Tool for Website Promotion

To scale up the website promotion effective play of words forms the framework of marketing success. It is the panorama created by the words and not the graphics that significantly reinforce the sales message to be displayed by the web site. I am not saying that graphics don’t set the stage, but it is the use of productive words that speak to the desires and wants of the customers. This art of salesmanship in print when used, scrupulously and ingeniously becomes one of the best promotional methods online. Surely, even a single thought of promoting a website via writing can give a daunting feeling or goose bumps to a webmaster because it can either mar the promotion of his/her site or would lead in the fraternity of the search engines. Undoubtedly a webmaster would know the art of persuasion to promote his/her website, but online it’s only the creative writing that will get him the USP (Unique Selling Proposition).
This cyber-world is totally different and an article can only explain the larger ambience of competition, trends, statistics, etc, which correspondingly affects the marketing of a website throughout the process. Customer irresolution, his cynicism, indifference, or confusion are among the top sales killers in the business world of website promotion or should I say demotion!!!!! The rationality and power of writing sales-pulling website should be comprehensively communicated with the incredible power of words, the words that really sell.
